Black Metal Agenda Vol 5/2010 Compilation Review

This is a review of the 5th volume of the Black Metal Agenda series and we will review the songs one by one.

Starting off the compilation is Niinagesh from Columbia with "Evoking The Apocylpse" a song that starts out with a very evil sounding intro than turns into a very fast, raw and primitive sounding satanic black metal song that utilizes a good amount of dark sounding melodies.

Next up is Upon Shadows from Uraguay with "Between Shades Of Gray" a more atmospheric black/dark metal song that utilizes a lot of gothic influences in the keyboards with a brief use of female vocals and industrial influences.

Next up is Blade Of Death from Russia with "Dark Winter Depression" a more slow sounding depressive black metal song that is all instrumental.

Next up is Host Morker from Sweden with "Hamndens Tid" a very raw and primitive black metal song that utilizes influences from both thrash and death metal.

Next up is Godless fro Puerto Rico with " Therianthropic Lust" a very raw and primitive sounding occult black metal song that has some very heavy bass lines along with some evil sounding high pitched screams and spoken word satanic passages.

Next up is Reign from Germany with "Religious Flame" a very fast, raw and primitive sounding satanic/anti christian song with some evil high pitched screams.

Next up is Prayer For The Dying from Malta with "Destructive Minds" a very raw and primitive sounding black metal song that combines influences from both death and thrash metal with a mixture of high pitched screams and deep growls.

Next up is Barad-Dur from Great Britain with "Altar" a very raw and primitive sounding occult black metal song that utilizes more deeper vocals and some dark melodies.

Next up is Sataniset "Exu 7 Infernos" a more primitive and atmospheric occult/satanic black metal song which also covers the darker side of Voodoo.

Closing up the compilation is Mordeth from Brazil with "Viruss" an atmospheric black metal song that utilizes a thrash/groove metal feeling along with some dark sounding keyboards and more deeper sounding black metal screams as well as a brief use of clean singing vocals with some technical sounding guitar leads. that are also very skilled and melodic.

In conclusion this is another great compilation and while I preferred volume 4, this is still very decent and belongs in the collection of all black metal fans. RECOMMENDED.
