Satanic Funeral/Night Of The Goat/Non Compos Mentis/2006 CD Review

Satanic  Funeral  are  a  band  that  has  members  both  from  the  U.S  and  the  Netherlands  which  plays  a  musical  style  that  I  would  describe  as  being  black/war/goat  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2006  album  "Night  Of  The  Goat"  which  was  released  by  Non  Compos  Mentis.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  the  most  raw  and  primitive  elements  of  black,  war,  and  goat  metal  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own  along  with  a  brief  use  of  dark  sounding  melodies,  while  the  lead  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  are  very  primitive  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  range  from  guttural  goat  metal  growls  to  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Goats,  Rituals,  Blood  and  Hell,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a very  dark,  raw  and primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Satanic  Funeral  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  black,  goat,  and  war  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Night  Of  The  Goat"  "The  Satanic  Funeral"  "Forever  Burning  In  Hell"  and  "Unholy  Pagan  Fire(Ode  To  Beherit)".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
