Warg/Below The Misty Mountain/Horizon Productions/2012 EP Review

Warg  are  a  band  from  New  Jersey  that  plays  a  Tolkien  inspired  from  of  atmospheric,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Below  The  Misty  Mountain"  which  was  released  by  Horizon  Productions.

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  drumming  with  no  fast  playing  or  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  atmospheric,  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  in  the  old  school  tradition  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  black  metal s creams,  while  the  lyrics  are  based  on  the  writings  of  J.R.R  Tolkien,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  in  the  old  school  tradition.

In  my  opinion  Warg  are  a  very  great  sounding  Tolkien  inspired  raw  and primitive  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Riddles  In  The  Dark".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
