Autumn, Leaves, Scars/Negative/2012 CD Review

Autumn,  Leaves,  Scars  are  a  band  from  Romania  that  plays  a  very  depressive  form  of   instrumental  post  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2012  album  "Negative".

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  playing  with  no  fast  drumming  or  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  synths  when  they  are  utilized  bring  a  very  dark,  atmospheric,  ambient  and  post  rock  sound  to  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  depressive  black  metal  riffs  that  also  utilize  some  post  rock  and  shoegaze  influences  as  well  as  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  and  melodic  sounding  post  black  metal guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to enhance  the  post  rock  elements  of  the  recording.

Vocals  and  song  writing  are  all  absent  from t his  recording  with  the  music  being  all  instrumental,  while  the  song  themes  cover  darkness  and  depression,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very,  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Autumn,  Leaves,  Scars  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  depressive  black  metal and  instrumental  post  rock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Neglect"  "Life,  Love,  Negativity"  and  "Draw  Me  A  Ruin  Pt.  2".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
