Beithioch/Duchas/HiArcTow/2011 CD Review

This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  Beithioch  which  continues  their  hybrid  sounding  of  instrumental,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  atmospheric,  black/pagan  metal,  doom  and  dark  ambient  with  the  album  called  "Duchas"  which  was  released  by  HiArcTow.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  synths  bring  a  very  dark,  atmospheric  and  ambient  sound  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  atmospheric  black/pagan  metal  riffs  that  are  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  doom  metal  influences  which  are  used  even  more  this  time  around  than  on  past  recordings  along  with  some  melody  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  at  times,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  sounding  black/doom  guitar  leads  and  solos  that  utilize  some  melodic  elements.

Vocals  and  song  writing  are  all  absent  from t his  recording  with  the  music  being  all  instrumental,  while  the  song  themes  are  inspired  by  the  Northern  Ireland's  landscapes,  as  for t he  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  with  one  of  the  songs  being  very  long  and  epic  in length.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Beithioch  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  instrumental  primitive  black/pagan  metal,  doom  and  dark  ambient,  you  should  check  out  this  album. RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Abyss  Of  Time"  "A  Dream  Of  The  Dead"  "Journey  At  First  Light"  and  "Gods  Of  The  Earth".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
