Nocturnal Witch Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the release of the new album?

Hi and thanks for your interest in NOCTURNAL WITCH.
We released the album during a concert on 22nd March together with Venenum and Witching Hour. Since this night we had a couple of gigs and promoting our album. Everything fine so far.

2.You had a new album released in March, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical direction of the new recording and also how does it differ from your previous ep and demos?

We wanted to make a more aggressive album with a sound that crushing your mind. And we made it…
The EP and Demos were good as well, but we didn’t have the opportunity to record them with the sound of the album.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new release?

Death and aggressions!

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Nocturnal Witch'?

We are huge Zemial Fans and decided to take a song name of the “For glory of Ur” (fvcking killer album) as our bandname. Simply as that.

5.In the studio the band is a duo but you also have a live line up for the shows, are you ever planning on using any of these musicians on your albums?

No. We write and record our songs as duo. Also in the future…
But a big thank you to Venomessiah for helping us during the live shows as bass(tard)!

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

Our release show in Krölpa (Donnerheim) was a real highlight – we played behind a cemetery-fence, just like King Diamond does. During the entire set the crowd hung at the fence and the atmosphere was just aggressive. Hail to Dangerous Metal Meetings in Krölpa for organizing this evening.
Another cool gig was some weeks ago in Berlin/Blackland, organized by Marcello of Evil Spirit…great guy & best scrambled eggs.
NOCTURNAL WITCH brings pure aggressions on stage. With pure black energy we capture the crowd.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the new album?

There are some shows announced so far, e.g. at the Pilsen Open Air in CZ in October and in Hamburg with Attic in December.

8.A year ago you where part of a live dvd split with Division Speed, what are your thoughts on the other band that had participated on the video?

We’re all friends and belonging to the same underground scene. Division Speed released great stuff and we totally supporting them.

9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black and thrash metal?

We just got positive feedback.  It’s great that people still love this kind of music even if the scene is flooded with a lot of shitty bands!

10.What is going on with the singers other band 'Sanctifying Ritual'these days?

Sanctifying Rituals latest release is a 7inch EP called “Storm of Devastation”. If you like raw Death Metal – check it out.

11.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

We will see…

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

By writing this interview we listen to Massacre – From Beyond.
Nocturnal Witch is influenced by a lot of Bands, but mainly bands like Old Sepultura, Deströyer 666, Nifelheim and Zemial.

13.How would you describe your views on Satanism and Occultism?

Crush the occult scum!

14.What are some of your non musical interests?

Drinking and fucking.

15.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or
thoughts?
