Thy Feeble Saviour Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

Currently just promoting the new album release and always writing new material.

2.You have your first full length coming out in March, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from your previous demo's and splits?

First off, the album is already available on cassette and CD format from Hell's Headbangers. The Lp version is scheduled to be out late March/early April also through Hell's Headbangers. The album can be described as raw, evil, black, death hate! No wimp shit!! You will hear riffs in our songs. yes, RIFFS!! All the previous recording were done on a 4 track cassette recorder so the sound was even more raw. We went for a good sounding rehearsal on the album and I think we achieved it. You can hear all instruments yet it is raw eventhough it was recorded with better equipment.

3.The music project was on a hiatus for 8 years, what was the decision behind getting the musical project going again?

I had talked to Matt several times before we actually got together about possibly recording some THY FEEBLE SAVIOUR tracks. He is a great drummer and his style fits perfectly to what I write. I've known him for years and have worked together on other things. We just decided one day to give it a shot since we both had time to do it. I wrote 6 songs which ended up being the BLASPHEMIC DISGUST Demo which came out in 2015.

4.The lyrics on the recordings are very  blasphemous and anti Christian, can you tell us a little bit more about your hatred from Christianity or other Abrahamic faiths?

We don't care for any religious vomit. Growing up in Texas you are bombarded with Christianity so naturally our hatred and disgust for the Christian religion is strong.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Thy Feeble Saviour'?

I took that from and Incantation song called Golgotha from the first album. I just thought it was a perfect name for a band.

6.Originally the band was a solo project, what was the decision behind expanding into a duo?

Matt and I had worked together before and his drumming style is perfect for the riffs I write and he is a much better drummer than I could ever be.  He and I work well together so it was an easy decision to make. Plus not having to do everything myself is a plus.

7.You have been compared  to 'Profanatica' and also had Paul Ledney help you in getting a deal with 'Hell's Headbangers', do you feel it is a huge honor to be compared to this legendary band and also capture their attention?

On the 2004 demo and the split 7 inch there's no doubt about the influence Profanatica had on me. Been listening to them since their early days. On the new stuff it's less Profanatica inspired but there still are some of their influences for sure. Paul and I have been in contact for many years. He's always liked the stuff I did which was a huge honor. I sent him a copy of the Blasphemic Disgust demo tape and he liked it a lot. He sent it over to Chase from Hell's Headbangers and not too long after that  I heard from Chase about wanting to release a THY FEEBLE SAVIOUR album.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black and death metal?

So far, from what I've seen, we've been getting a great response about what we are doing. Appreciate all the support we have gotten from Headsplit Records, Nero One Records and Hell's Headbangers in helping us get our shit out there to the maniacs worldwide.

9.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Lots of late 80's/early 90s black/death metal is where we get influence from for THY FEEBLE SAVIOUR.

10.Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?
No. We do not subscribe to any sort of religion.

11.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thanks for the interview. You can purchase our album from the mighty Hell's Headbangers!!
